Alejandro Garnacho Moves to Chelsea: A Million-Dollar Deal

Manchester United and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to sources close to the negotiation. The young player, 21 years old, will join the “Blues” at Stamford Bridge for a fixed sum of 40 million pounds sterling. In addition, United will receive 10% of any future transfer of the footballer. Garnacho will undergo medical examinations in London this Friday before signing a contract that will bind him to the club until the year 2032. United sources revealed that Chelsea’s initial offer for the Argentinian international was £25 million. Despite this, United managed to negotiate a higher figure, although lower than their initial valuation of 50 million. Garnacho was left out of the first team by coach Ruben Amorim this summer, missing the pre-season tour of the United States. The footballer criticized the Portuguese coach after being relegated to the bench in the Europa League final against Tottenham in May. The winger has been training away from the main group at Carrington, along with other members of the so-called “bomb squad”: Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia. Garnacho leaves Old Trafford after training in the club’s youth system and playing 144 matches with the first team. He scored 26 goals, including one in the 2024 FA Cup final against Manchester City. He was part of the FA Youth Cup-winning team in 2022 and was named the club’s Young Player of the Year in the same season.
