Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will face each other in the Europa League final on May 21, after securing victories in their respective semi-finals on Thursday.

Spurs defeated Bodo/Glimt 2-0 in Norway, while United came back to win 4-1 against Athletic Club, thus sealing their place in the final with a favorable aggregate score.

This result sets up a final that, for the third time in the history of the Europa League and the UEFA Cup, will pit two English teams against each other. Previously, Chelsea beat Arsenal in 2019 and Tottenham defeated Wolves in a two-legged tie in 1972.

The final will be played at San Mamés, Athletic Club’s stadium, the team that United defeated in the semi-finals.

The decisive match of the second-tier European competition will offer Manchester United and Tottenham the opportunity to close their seasons, which have not been entirely brilliant, with a trophy and a place in the 2025-26 edition of the Champions League.
