Donnarumma Confirms His Departure from PSG

Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has confirmed his departure from Paris Saint-Germain. The news comes after being excluded from the team for the UEFA Super Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur. Donnarumma, through his social media, expressed his feelings: “To the special fans of Paris, from the first day I arrived, I gave it my all, on and off the field, to earn my place and defend the goal of Paris Saint-Germain. Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group and contribute to the team’s success. I am disappointed and discouraged.”

“I hope to have the opportunity to look the fans in the eyes at the Parc des Princes one more time and say goodbye properly.”

PSG coach Luis Enrique took responsibility for the decision. “Donnarumma is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, without a doubt, and even better as a person. But this is the life of high-level footballers. I am 100% responsible for this difficult decision. If it were easy, anyone would do it; these decisions have to do with the profile of the goalkeeper that my team needs.”

Description of the image: Gianluigi Donnarumma could leave PSG this summer. PSG recently signed Lucas Chevalier from Lille in a transfer estimated at 40 million euros plus 15 million in bonuses. Chevalier is expected to be the club’s new starting goalkeeper. It is rumored that PSG does not wish to keep Donnarumma and anticipates an offer from clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United or Inter Milan, who have shown interest through the player’s agent, Enzo Raiola. Donnarumma was looking to extend his contract with the club, but no agreement was reached. The player, who already had a salary of 850,000 euros per month, requested a raise and did not accept the new salary structure imposed by the club’s sporting director.
