Darwin Núñez close to Al Hilal: Liverpool negotiating millionaire transfer

Liverpool forward Darwin Núñez is close to joining Al Hilal of the Saudi Pro League, according to sources close to the situation. Although an agreement between the clubs has not yet been finalized, negotiations are ongoing and all parties involved are confident of reaching an agreement, which would likely be around 53 million euros (61.5 million dollars). Núñez arrived at Liverpool from Benfica for an initial sum of 64 million pounds in the summer of 2022. In three seasons, he has scored 40 goals in 143 appearances, although his influence diminished last season despite Liverpool’s Premier League triumph.

Despite being a Liverpool fan favorite, Darwin Núñez has struggled to generate a consistent impact during his time at the club. The Uruguayan international only scored seven goals in all competitions, which added weight to the feeling that his future was far from Anfield. In the event that Núñez leaves, the renewal of Liverpool’s attacking line would continue, as Luis Díaz has also left to join Bayern Munich this summer.
