Solina Chau, a billionaire with an estimated fortune of $3 billion according to Forbes, also joins Angel City as an investor. Her company has made early investments in Facebook, Spotify, and Zoom.

I am thrilled to join the Angel City ownership group and be part of a movement that is transforming what is possible in sports, equality, and community. Angel City’s commitment to advancing women, building inclusive communities, and disrupting the status quo resonates deeply with my values. Together, I believe we can set new standards for what a purpose-driven sports team can achieve, both in Los Angeles and around the world.

Angel City also announced the addition of consultant Ina Coleman and businessman Paul Bernon as minority investors. Willow Bay, dean of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and her husband Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, are the main owners of Angel City FC. They took control of the club last year for a valuation of $250 million, a league record. Other investors include co-founder Natalie Portman; actresses Jennifer Garner, America Ferrera, Uzo Aduba, and Eva Longoria; iconic tennis player and activist Billie Jean King; and active and retired athletes such as Mia Hamm, Abby Wambach, Julie Foudy. Chris Paul, 40, has frequently attended Angel City FC matches, including last month, when he exchanged jerseys with defender Savy King. A post shared by National Women’s Soccer League (@nwsl) The Angel City was co-founded by Portman, Kara Nortman, and the current team president, Julie Uhrman. Alexis Ohanian was the previous controlling owner of the team at its launch before Bay and Iger took control last year. The four still retain shares in the club. Bay has “full control” of the board, according to the team since the beginning of last year’s transaction.

Chris, Solina, Ina, and Paul exemplify the values and vision that define ACFC. Their outstanding leadership in business, sports, advocacy, and social impact makes them ideal partners as we continue to build a world-class club that is progressive, inclusive, and ambitious. We are proud to welcome them to the Angel City family at such a transformative time for our team and the future of women’s soccer.
