Chelsea Halts Jackson Loan to Bayern Munich

Chelsea has canceled Nicolas Jackson’s loan to Bayern Munich, due to concerns about the injury of Liam Delap, who could be out of action for up to eight weeks. Delap suffered a hamstring injury 14 minutes into the match against Fulham, where Chelsea won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Coach Maresca commented that Delap’s injury could keep him out for six to eight weeks. This situation would leave Chelsea with João Pedro as their only starting center forward, given that Christopher Nkunku has already joined AC Milan and Jackson was finalizing his loan to Bayern Munich. Despite Bayern agreeing to pay a loan fee of £13 million with an option to buy for £56.25 million, the London club has halted Jackson’s transfer.

In the match against Fulham, Maresca chose to use youth player Tyrique George in the forward position, although the 19-year-old has been linked with a possible departure in the coming hours.

When you have two forwards, it’s enough. When one of them gets injured for several weeks, it’s probably not enough.

Maresca
Maresca also mentioned that the club is looking for solutions and evaluating the situation after Delap’s injury. Chelsea are also in talks with Brighton for midfielder Facundo Buonanotte, while Alejandro Garnacho attended Saturday’s match at Stamford Bridge.
