Arsenal has officially announced the signing of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia for an initial sum of 15 million euros (13 million pounds). Sources close to the club indicated that the 21-year-old defender has signed a five-year contract, valid until June 2030, and an option to extend it for an additional 12 months. It is estimated that the total cost of the transfer could amount to 20 million euros if certain performance objectives are met.Mosquera becomes Arsenal’s fifth reinforcement this summer transfer window, joining Martín Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Christian Nørgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga, with a total investment of around £140 million. The player joined Arsenal’s training camp in Singapore, where the team is on a tour of Asia. Negotiations were led by sporting director Andrea Berta, with the participation of coach Mikel Arteta. Mosquera played in 90 matches with Valencia. Internally, he is considered one of the most promising young defensive talents in Europe, mainly standing out as a right-back, but with the ability to perform in any position in the defensive line.
