Venue Change for Argentina vs. Puerto Rico Friendly

The international friendly match between Argentina and Puerto Rico has been moved from Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, to Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The change was announced recently. The match will be played on Tuesday, October 14, instead of Monday, October 13. The venue modification was due to low ticket sales, according to Luca Serra, spokesperson for the Chicago Park District.

“Yes, I confirm that the Argentina vs. Puerto Rico match has been canceled in Chicago,” Serra told Associated Press. “The promoter made the decision this morning due to low ticket sales.”

VMG Sports and Entertainment, the match promoter, has not yet issued an official statement about the change. An anonymous executive from the Argentine Football Association (AFA) informed Associated Press that the match was rescheduled due to immigration measures in the city of Chicago.
The Argentina vs. Puerto Rico match will be played at Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium. Inter Miami made the official announcement that the match will be played at their facilities in Fort Lauderdale, marking the first time that either of these national teams will play at Chase Stadium. “Chase Stadium is set to host another international friendly, with Inter Miami CF’s field as the venue for a match between the current FIFA World Cup champion and two-time Copa América champion, Argentina, and Puerto Rico, next Tuesday, October 14th at 8 p.m. ET,” the team said in a press release. “The occasion presents a historic clash between both teams and the first time both teams will play at Chase Stadium.” Argentina will face Venezuela on October 10 before playing against Puerto Rico on October 14.
