Manchester United’s coach, Ruben Amorim, has revealed that the team is “stealing” set-piece routines from other clubs, following the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, where two goals came from free kicks. The Manchester United managed to come back at Selhurst Park thanks to goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount, both originating from set pieces by Bruno Fernandes. This season, Amorim’s team has scored 10 goals in the Premier League through set pieces, matching Arsenal at the top of the table.

We work a lot. We have more time to work, we learn a lot in England, and we are “stealing” a lot of things to score goals.

The Manchester United seemed to be heading for another defeat after falling to Everton, but Crystal Palace took the lead thanks to a penalty converted by Jean-Philippe Mateta. However, Amorim’s team showed a notable improvement in the second half, achieving their second away win since March.

I just told the players that we needed to be more alive and it was felt.

Amorim added that the team needed to understand that the opponent also got tired in the second half. The coach highlighted that, by increasing the pace and noticing the opponent’s fatigue, the team felt in control of the game.
