Amorim: Manchester United Far From the Top

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim expressed his concern after the 1-0 defeat against Everton, pointing out that his team is far from competing for the top spots in the Premier League. United, seeking to climb into Champions League positions at home, couldn’t overcome an Everton that played with ten men after Idrissa Gueye’s expulsion.

We are nowhere near the level we should be at to fight for the top positions in the league.

Amorim admitted that the team “deserved to lose” and that, despite a recent positive run, he fears a repeat of the previous bad season, in which United finished in 15th position. The coach expressed his frustration, even envying the attitude shown by Everton, despite Gueye’s expulsion. Amorim urged his players to show the same determination in training.
