Alexis Ohanian invierte en el Chelsea Femenino
Reddit co-founder and husband of tennis player Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian, has acquired a 10% stake in Chelsea Women, the current Women’s Super League champion.
Ohanian confirmed the news through his social media, where it was announced that he invested 20 million pounds sterling (approximately 26.52 million dollars) to obtain his share of the London club.
I’ve bet big on women’s sports before, and I’m doing it again. I’m proud to announce that I’m joining @ChelseaFCW as an investor and board member. I’m honored to have the opportunity to help this iconic club become America’s favorite team in the @BarclaysWSL and much, much more.

Ohanian, 42, already has experience in women’s soccer. He was the majority shareholder of Angel City FC, a team he helped found in 2020.
Ohanian also founded Athlos NYC, an exclusive women’s athletics event that held its inaugural event in September.
According to reports, Ohanian and Williams will attend Wembley Stadium on Sunday to witness the match between Chelsea and Manchester United in the Women’s FA Cup final.
Chelsea Women moved from Chelsea FC Holdings Limited to BlueCo, Todd Boehly’s consortium, last June, in a deal valued at around £198.7 million.
Following the sale, Chelsea Women appointed Aki Mandhar as their first dedicated chief executive as part of a “repositioning” effort.
Earlier this month, Chelsea won their sixth consecutive WSL title, finishing unbeaten in their league campaign and setting a points record.
They also won the Women’s League Cup in March and reached the semi-finals of the Women’s Champions League, where they were eliminated by Barcelona.
