Aspinall Celebrates Title and Wishes Jones the Best
The English fighter Tom Aspinall expressed his good wishes to Jon Jones after his retirement from the world of mixed martial arts. Aspinall, who now holds the undisputed UFC heavyweight title, regrets not having had the opportunity to face Jones for the championship. Aspinall, with a record of 15-3, became the undisputed champion last Saturday, when UFC CEO Dana White announced Jones’ retirement. Aspinall emphasized that he does not personally know Jones and that he respects his decision to retire. Aspinall, 32, is expected to defend his heavyweight title in the near future. The fighter intends to fight twice this year. Aspinall is ready for his next fight, which he hopes will be soon.From a selfish perspective, I would have liked Jones to stay, but I don’t hold a grudge. I have always considered myself the champion and I am glad that situation is behind me.
