Fans Drain Beer at 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup Match
The organizers of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup have confirmed that attendees of the match between England and Australia in Brighton on Saturday exhausted all the beer available in the stadium.
Sarah Massey, managing director of the Rugby World Cup England 2025, reported at a press conference on Tuesday that some fans were unable to buy their preferred drink.
The beer manufacturer Asahi is a sponsor of the tournament. Massey indicated that the shortage was corrected for Sunday’s match at the same stadium where New Zealand defeated Ireland.More than 60,000 fans attended during the two days in Brighton.
Massey added: “We saw record food and beverage sales in Brighton and in all stadiums over the weekend, showing how much this attracts fans.”
“That will only help long-term investment. It’s unfortunate that some people couldn’t get food and drinks, we rectified it on Sunday. We get survey data after every match, so we try to improve everything we do.”
England’s 47-7 victory over Australia on Saturday was played in front of a crowd of 30,443 spectators, with 30,017 present on Sunday to watch New Zealand defeat Ireland.
