Jack van Poortvliet Boosts the British & Irish Lions for Clash Against Argentina
The talented player Jack van Poortvliet has been called up by the British & Irish Lions for their next match against Argentina, to be held on Friday in Dublin.
Van Poortvliet, 24 years old, arrives to reinforce the scrum-half position, providing coverage to the team in its preparation for this week’s match.
Leicester’s number 9, who was in the Gallagher Premiership final, joins the Lions after having participated with England in their match against France XV on Sunday.
Currently, the team has three scrum-halves: Jamison Gibson-Park, Alex Mitchell, and Tomos Williams. The Lions have confirmed that Van Poortvliet’s inclusion is to “cover” the match against Argentina.
This news comes a day after it was announced that the team was fully fit for Friday’s game.
Van Poortvliet has 15 international matches with England, debuting in 2022.
