R360 Postpones Launch Until 2028
The expected R360 rugby league, which promised a revolution in the sport, has postponed its launch until the year 2028. The initiative, which was initially scheduled to begin next year, has justified this decision for various reasons.
Among the reasons cited, the search for “greater commercial certainty and a significantly more favorable environment for players and fans” stands out.
Despite this postponement, the league confirmed that it has managed to sign players from all top-tier rugby nations.
The decision to delay our launch until 2028 is a strategic decision based on time.
Tindall added that launching the league under compressed timelines would not meet the standards established for R360, nor would it generate the long-term commercial impact that the sport deserves.
The league also emphasized its commitment to the players. “From day one, our commitment to the players has been unwavering. Many of the world’s best players, both female and male, continue to show great interest in joining R360. We want them to thrive, not be subjected to unnecessary pressure,” they stated.
The league’s ambition is to “complement” the international rugby calendar, following the first tour of the Leonas and the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
In addition, Martin Gilbert, a Scottish financier, was confirmed as chairman of the R360 project.
