R360 Postpones Launch Until 2028
The R360 rugby league proposal, which promised a revolution in the sport, has postponed its launch until the year 2028. The league, which was originally scheduled to begin next year, has cited various reasons for this delay.
Among the causes are “greater business certainty and a significantly more favorable environment for players and fans.”
The league also confirmed that it has signed players from each of the top-tier rugby nations.
The decision to move our launch to 2028 is a strategic decision based on time.
Tindall added that launching in compressed timeframes would not meet the standards set for R360, nor would it generate the long-term commercial impact that the sport deserves.
The league also highlighted its commitment to the players. “From day one, our commitment to the players has been unwavering. Many of the world’s best players, both female and male, continue to express a strong interest in joining R360. We want them to thrive, not be subjected to unnecessary pressure,” they added.
The league seeks to “complement” the international rugby calendar, following the inaugural tour of the Women’s Lions and the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
Martin Gilbert, a Scottish financier, has been confirmed as chairman of the R360 project.
