British and Irish Lions Overcome Brumbies in Canberra, but Suffer Another Injury

The British and Irish Lions secured a hard-fought victory, defeating a weakened ACT Brumbies team 36-24 in Canberra on Wednesday. However, the joy of the triumph was marred by a new injury in the backs line. The Lions fullback, Blair Kinghorn, had to leave the field early in the first half and spent the rest of the match applying ice to his left knee at Canberra Stadium. With Maro Itoje back as captain and Finn Russell directing the game from fly-half, Lions coach Andy Farrell presented a team that was expected to resemble the one that will play the first match of the series against the Wallabies in Brisbane next week. Despite a complicated start, where they conceded a try in the first few minutes, the Lions managed to score five tries, thus adding their fourth consecutive victory in their Australian tour, after their wins over Western Force, Queensland Reds and New South Wales Waratahs.
