Kildunne also spoke about the pressure and expectations. “I love the pressure. I love that people want to see us play. I love that people expect me and the team to play well, but there is no sense of relief,” he stated.
Thousands of fans greeted the England team bus upon its arrival at the stadium, with a record crowd of 81,885 spectators at Twickenham. Kildunne described the moment of entering the stadium as a dream come true. “I don’t think this will sink in for a long time,” Kildunne said. The player continued sharing her emotions: “I was very in the moment and when we got off the bus and on all the stairs, everyone was there, that was the moment and then we just focused on our rugby. The final whistle blew, I burst into tears, I saw my mother and father, they cried, that made me cry again.” Kildunne concluded: “But this will take a little time to assimilate because it’s something that not many people have the opportunity to feel, but right now it’s about celebrating with the girls.”
