Argentina achieved a historic victory over the Lions on Friday, marking a milestone in their encounters.
In a preparatory match played at the Aviva Stadium, Argentina defeated the British and Irish Lions with a score of 28-24. This victory represents the first time Argentina has defeated the Lions in eight encounters, leaving coach Andy Farrell with pending tasks before his team travels to Australia.
Just like in the 25-25 draw prior to the 2005 tour, Los Pumas took the lead thanks to tries from Ignacio Mendy and Tomas Albornoz, along with an effort from Bundee Aki, securing a 21-10 lead at halftime.
The Lions, with several absences due to club commitments and injuries, showed a different face at the start of the second half, regaining the lead with a penalty try and another scored by Tadhg Beirne.
However, Santiago Carreras put Argentina ahead again with another try, and the Lions, with errors, failed to respond, leaving five more matches, all in Australia, to improve before the first test against the Wallabies on July 19.Additional Information:
