Brady Tkachuk, Senators captain, out with injury

Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk will be out of the game for at least a month due to an injury to his right hand, according to coach Travis Green, who reported this Tuesday. Tkachuk suffered the injury on Monday, the result of a stick to the face by defenseman Roman Josi of the Nashville Predators. The incident occurred at the beginning of the first period, and the player crashed into the boards in an unfavorable manner. Despite the injury, the 26-year-old player remained in the game before leaving the match in the second half of the third period.

He’s going to miss a significant amount of time. We’ll know more in the next 24 hours. We don’t know exactly, but it’s four weeks or more. We don’t know exactly.

Green also mentioned that surgery is a possibility for Tkachuk, but that, at a minimum, he will be out for four weeks. In the current season, Tkachuk has three assists in three games for Ottawa, the team that drafted him fourth overall in 2018. Brady’s brother, Matthew, is also sidelined due to injury. Matthew, a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Florida Panthers, is expected to be out until December. Both Tkachuk brothers were among the first six players named by the United States for their initial roster for the 2026 Olympic Games in June.
