Predators and Luke Evangelista Agree to Two-Year Deal
The Nashville Predators and forward Luke Evangelista have finalized a two-year contract agreement, according to a source close to Alofoke Deportes. This agreement ends the pending negotiations with the player before the start of the NHL season. The contract has an average annual value of $3 million. Upon completion of this agreement, Evangelista will become a restricted free agent again. Evangelista, 23 years old, is preparing for his fourth season in the NHL, after being selected 42nd overall by Nashville in 2020. In the 2024-25 season, the player recorded 10 goals and 22 assists in 68 games, with an average ice time of 13:52 and a minus-2 rating. The negotiations between Evangelista and the Predators were tense, and the player did not show up for training camp while the terms of the contract were being discussed. The parties exchanged offers for months and, recently, had considered a three-year extension before reaching the final agreement.Nashville general manager Barry Trotz stated that he had no intention of trading Evangelista and saw him as part of a “great young group” of players on the Predators.
