Ice Hockey Legends Enter U.S. Hall of Fame in 2025

Great figures of ice hockey, including Joe Pavelski, Zach Parise, and Scott Gomez, lead the 2025 class of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. Olympic defender Tara Mounsey and photographer Bruce Bennett will also be honored at a ceremony in St. Paul, Minnesota. USA Hockey made the official announcement of the five honorees on Wednesday.

“The five members of this class share a common bond through the Winter Olympics,” said Pat Kelleher, executive director of USA Hockey, in a video conference with reporters. “It is fitting, as we prepare for another Olympic and Paralympic year, that all these people enter the Hall of Fame together.”

Scott Gomez, one of the first Latino players in the league and the first from Alaska, made history. He won the Stanley Cup twice with New Jersey. Gomez, Pavelski, and Parise, who overlapped for much of their careers, accumulated 53 seasons and represented the United States in the Olympics. Tara Mounsey was key in the conquest of the gold medal in women’s hockey at the 1998 Games and was part of the team that reached the final in 2002.

“Being part of that team was incredible,” Mounsey said. “Looking back and seeing how women’s ice hockey has exploded since 1998 is incredible to witness, as well as the opportunities that young women now have on the ice and the role models they have”.

Bruce Bennett has photographed nearly 6,000 NHL and international games during his 50-year career.
