NHL Legends and Olympic Figures Enter U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame

Great NHL figures, along with prominent names in women’s hockey and a renowned photographer, will make up the 2025 class of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. Joe Pavelski, Zach Parise, and Scott Gomez, players with extensive careers in the NHL, head this year’s list. They are joined by Olympic defender Tara Mounsey and photographer Bruce Bennett, who has documented hockey for decades. The induction ceremony will be held in St. Paul, Minnesota, according to USA Hockey.

All five members of this class share a common bond through the Winter Olympics. It is fitting, as we prepare for another Olympic and Paralympic year, that all these individuals enter the Hall together.

Scott Gomez, one of the first Latino players in the league, made history as the first player from Alaska to reach the NHL. He won two Stanley Cups with the New Jersey Devils. Pavelski, Parise, and Gomez, who overlapped for much of their careers, accumulated 53 seasons in the NHL and represented the United States in the Olympic Games. Tara Mounsey, for her part, was key in obtaining the Olympic gold medal for women’s hockey in 1998 and was part of the team that reached the final in 2002.

Being part of that team was incredible. Looking back and seeing how women’s ice hockey has exploded since 1998, it’s incredible to witness the opportunity these young women have on the ice and the role models they have.

Bruce Bennett, with a career spanning 50 years, has captured the essence of hockey in nearly 6,000 NHL and international games.
