Prominent Ice Hockey Figures to Enter U.S. Hall of Fame in 2025

Joe Pavelski, Zach Parise, and Scott Gomez, recognized long-time NHL players, lead the 2025 class of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony, which will take place in St. Paul, Minnesota, will also include Tara Mounsey, a gold medal-winning defender in women’s hockey, and photographer Bruce Bennett. USA Hockey announced the five honorees on Wednesday.

All five members of this class share a common bond through the Winter Olympics. It is fitting, as we prepare for another Olympic and Paralympic year, that all these individuals enter the Hall together.

Pat Kelleher, Executive Director of USA Hockey
Gomez, one of the first Latino players in the league, made history by being the first to come from the state of Alaska. In addition, he won the Stanley Cup twice with New Jersey. Gomez, Pavelski, and Parise, who coincided for much of their careers, totaled 53 seasons and represented the United States in the Olympic Games. Mounsey was key in obtaining the first gold medal in women’s hockey for the United States at the 1998 Games and was part of the team that reached the final in 2002.

Being part of that team was incredible. Looking back and seeing how women’s ice hockey has exploded since 1998, it’s incredible to witness the opportunity that young women now have on the ice and the role models they have.

Tara Mounsey
Bennett, for his part, has photographed nearly 6,000 NHL and international games throughout his 50-year career.
