The Washington Capitals star, Alex Ovechkin, has established a collaboration with a Russian technology company to develop a film, series, or documentary about his career in the NHL.

Yandex and its streaming platform, Kinopoisk, were in charge of announcing this agreement last Tuesday.

In the past season, Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky’s goal record, accumulating 897 goals before the last season of his contract with the Capitals. Nearing the age of 40, Ovechkin and his representatives have granted the rights to adapt his career to Plus Studio, the production company of Yandex.

The player, originally from Moscow, began his professional career in the Russian league, currently known as the KHL. He is expected to participate in advertisements and act as an ambassador for Yandex as part of this agreement.

Ovechkin has developed his entire career in the NHL with the Washington Capitals since being selected first overall in the 2004 draft, debuting in 2005. Since then, he has been the face of the franchise and captain since January 2010. He was named MVP of the playoffs in 2018, leading the Capitals to their first Stanley Cup championship.
