Josh Norris Shines in Return with the Sabres
Buffalo Sabres center Josh Norris tied his career-high for points in a single game during the 5-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night. This match marked a triumphant return to the team after suffering an upper-body injury in the season opener. Norris scored two goals and assisted on the first goal of the game, which occurred at 2 minutes and 46 seconds. His second goal gave the Sabres a dominant 5-1 lead less than a minute into the third period. This was Norris’s sixth three-point game and the first since January 30 against Washington, when he played for Ottawa.
In that same match, he also scored a goal and provided an assist in the first half. Norris, 26, was selected in the first round of the draft by the San Jose Sharks in 2017. He has faced injury problems and has only participated in his fifth game with Buffalo since being acquired in a trade last season. The Sabres have been hoping he will take on a more important role, so this game could give him a much-needed boost. Norris was injured in the 4-0 loss to the New York Rangers on October 9.
