Toronto Teams Adjust Schedules to Support Blue Jays in World Series
Toronto is gearing up for a weekend and a week full of sporting excitement, with the Maple Leafs and Raptors modifying their game schedules to avoid any overlap with the Blue Jays’ World Series games.The Rogers Centre, located in downtown Toronto, will be the venue for games 1 and 2 of the World Series, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both games are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET. In response to this programming, the following adjustments have been made:“Toronto sports fans are undeniably some of the most passionate in the world, and we are proud that the city’s teams are coming together to give these fans the opportunity to experience a significant moment in the history of our city and nation.”

- The Raptors’ home opener against Milwaukee, scheduled for Friday, has been moved up from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- The Maple Leafs’ game against Buffalo, scheduled for Saturday, has been moved up from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- The Leafs’ game against Calgary the following Tuesday has also been modified, starting at 6 p.m.
- The Raptors will host Houston on October 29 at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, the Maple Leafs and Raptors will broadcast the World Series games on the big screen at Scotiabank Arena after their respective games.“Each of these changes to game schedules is quite complicated and represents the cooperation of many stakeholders, including the respective leagues, the Leafs, Raptors and opposing teams’ coaches and players, as well as broadcasters.
