Alex Laferriere Secures His Future with the Kings
Forward Alex Laferriere has agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Kings for a three-year, $12.3 million contract.
The announcement was made by the Kings on Saturday. Laferriere, who was a restricted free agent this summer after finishing his entry-level contract, secures his stay with the team.
Laferriere, 23 years old, had a standout season with the Kings, scoring 19 goals and providing 23 assists. He established himself as a reliable scorer in his second NHL season.
Primarily, he played on the right wing alongside center Quinton Byfield and goalscorer Kevin Fiala, both key pieces in Los Angeles’ young core.
Selected in the third round of the 2020 draft, Laferriere has 31 goals and 34 assists in 158 games with the Kings.
The new general manager of Los Angeles, Ken Holland, has resolved his most urgent contractual matters of the summer with the signing of Laferriere. Holland expressed his desire to negotiate a long-term contract with Adrian Kempe, who is in the final season of his contract.
