Adrian Kempe Secures His Future with the Kings: Signs a Multi-Year Contract
Los Angeles Kings have finalized the signing of a new contract with winger Adrian Kempe, ensuring his stay with the team for the next eight years. The agreement, announced this Monday, represents an investment of 10.625 million dollars annually.
Kempe’s renewal was a priority for the Kings, especially in anticipation of the possible retirement of captain Anze Kopitar at the end of the season. Negotiations between both parties extended for several months, and according to sources close to the matter, Kempe had accepted a slightly lower contract, demonstrating his commitment to the team and his desire to compete for the Stanley Cup in Los Angeles.
The contract extends Kempe’s connection with the Kings until the 2033-34 season. The Swedish player, 29 years old, has developed his entire professional career with the Kings, since he was selected in the first round of the draft in 2014.
Kempe, who has led the Kings in scoring for the last two seasons, has six goals and 19 points in the 19 games played this season.
Kempe was considered one of the most sought-after free agents for the summer of 2026.
