Dylan Samberg Signs Extension with the Jets

Restricted free agent defenseman Dylan Samberg has avoided a salary arbitration hearing and signed a three-year contract extension with the Winnipeg Jets this Wednesday.

Although the team did not disclose the financial terms, several media outlets reported that the deal is worth $17.25 million, with an average annual value of $5.75 million.

Samberg, 26, recorded career-best totals in goals (six), points (20) and plus/minus rating (plus 34) in 60 games last season. In addition, he added three assists in 13 playoff games. Since being selected by Winnipeg in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft, Samberg has accumulated a total of 51 points, with nine goals and 42 assists, in 216 career games.
