Kyle Connor Signs Million-Dollar Extension with the Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets secure their offensive star Kyle Connor with an eight-year, $96 million contract, marking the most lucrative deal in franchise history.
Connor, one of the team’s most consistent players, earned this contract after proving his worth on the court.
Selected by Winnipeg in 2015, Connor has scored 30 or more goals in seven of his eight full NHL seasons, surpassing 40 goals in two of the last four campaigns.
In the 2024-25 season, Connor achieved his personal best with 56 assists and 97 points in 82 games, positioning himself among the top 20 NHL scorers in goals (153) and points (331) since 2021.
Last season, Winnipeg led the league with 116 points, although they were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs against Dallas. Connor’s renewal is crucial for the Jets to maintain their position as contenders in the Western Conference.
Winnipeg’s core includes goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, a Hart and Vezina Trophy winner, center Mark Scheifele, and defenseman Josh Morrissey.
Connor, 28, joins Scheifele, Gabriel Vilardi, and Neal Pionk as players secured until 2030.
This could be a great year for Connor, who represented Team USA at the 4 Nations Face-Off in February and participated in the Olympic orientation camp ahead of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games.
Winnipeg will play its first game of the season on Thursday at home against the Stars.
