In a milestone that defies the passage of time, Jaromir Jagr, at 53 years old, has begun his 38th professional season. The legendary ice hockey player participated in the victory of his home team, the Kladno Knights, with a score of 3-1 over Vitkovice in the Czech league.

The match, which took place on Friday night, marked Jagr’s season debut, after recovering from a muscle injury. In this game, the veteran player accumulated 10 minutes and 8 seconds of playing time and was part of the team in power plays.

This was the fifteenth game of the season for Kladno. Jagr, at 53 years and 244 days old, continues to demonstrate his passion and dedication to the sport.

Jagr, who debuted with Kladno at age 16, returned to the club in 2018 after being released by the Calgary Flames. His legacy in hockey is undeniable, ranking second on the NHL’s all-time points list, surpassed only by Wayne Gretzky.

With 766 goals in the NHL, Jagr ranks fourth in league history. During his career, he played 11 seasons in Pittsburgh, where he won the Stanley Cup in 1991 and 1992.

He makes his presence felt in the locker room. We have a lot of fun with him.

Until the beginning of this year, Jagr combined his role as a player with that of owner of Kladno, dividing his time between seeking sponsors, administrative tasks, and time on the ice.

In 2017, Jagr acquired full ownership of the team, but in January he sold a majority stake to financially strengthen Kladno.

Jagr expressed his desire to complete the season, seeking to lead Kladno to the playoffs for the first time.

They failed to reach the playoffs. Therefore, they have another chance this season.
