Jackson Blake Secures His Future with the Hurricanes with a Million-Dollar Contract
Carolina Hurricanes forward Jackson Blake has signed an eight-year, $45 million contract extension, the team announced Thursday. This deal will take effect starting in the 2026-27 season. Blake, 21, and son of former NHL player Jason Blake, had a standout rookie season. In the regular season, the young player scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists in 80 games. In the playoffs, he added three goals and three assists in 15 games.The right winger, 5-foot-11 inches, was selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round of the 2021 draft. Before his arrival in the NHL, Blake played two seasons at the University of North Dakota.Jackson had an outstanding rookie season, and we believe he’s just beginning to show the player he can become. His tenacity with the puck and competitiveness fit with our team culture, and we are excited about his future with the club.
