Christian Dvorak secures his future with the Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers have secured the continuity of forward Christian Dvorak, after signing a five-year contract extension worth $25.75 million. The announcement was made by General Manager Daniel Briere, who detailed that the agreement will come into effect next NHL season, extending until the 2030-31 campaign. The contract will represent an impact of $5.15 million annually on the salary cap.

We are very happy that Christian will be part of the Philadelphia Flyers for the foreseeable future. He has played a fundamental role in the success of our team this season and has proven to be a reliable, two-way center who can be relied upon in all situations. More importantly, he plays an important role in our locker room and has integrated perfectly into our group and what we are building.

Dvorak, 29, has made a significant impact in his first half-season with the Flyers, after arriving as a free agent in July. Although he accepts a slight salary reduction compared to the $5.4 million he currently earns, the agreement provides him with long-term stability until the age of 35. The player, a native of Palos Heights, Illinois, has accumulated nine goals and 16 assists, totaling 25 points in 39 games. He is currently tied for third place in the Flyers’ scoring table and is on track to surpass his personal points record, set at 38 during the 2019-20 season with Arizona, which was shortened by the pandemic.
