Lukas Dostal Secures His Future with the Anaheim Ducks
Goaltender Lukas Dostal has signed a five-year contract extension to continue his career with the Anaheim Ducks, the team announced on Thursday. The agreement, according to reports, is worth $32.5 million, with an average annual value of $6.5 million.Dostal, 25, recorded a 23-23-7 record with one shutout, a 3.10 goals-against average, and a .903 save percentage in 54 games (49 starts) last season. Dostal shared responsibilities in goal with John Gibson, who was traded to the Detroit Red Wings on June 28 in exchange for goaltender Petr Mrazek, a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL draft and a second-round pick in 2027.Dostal holds a 42-58-13 record with two shutouts, a 3.29 GAA and a .902 save percentage in 121 career appearances (107 starts) with the Ducks.Lukas has proven to be a number 1 goalie and we are very happy to finalize this agreement. He is just entering the prime of his career, and the best of his hockey is yet to come.
