Lukas Dostal, Anaheim Ducks Goalie, Out with Injury
Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal will be out of action for two to three weeks due to an upper-body injury, the team announced on Friday.
Dostal has had an outstanding performance this season, with a record of 11-5-1, an average of 2.81 goals against, and a save percentage of .904. His performance has been especially notable at home, where he has won eight of his nine games, contributing to the Ducks’ position in first place in the Pacific Division as of Friday.
Dostal, selected in the third round of the 2018 draft, has shown solid play in the last two seasons, which allowed the Ducks to dispense with John Gibson, their long-time starting goalie. Anaheim traded Gibson to the Detroit Red Wings on June 28 in exchange for goalie Petr Mrazek, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick.
The announcement of Dostal’s injury was made before the Ducks’ game against the Los Angeles Kings, after he was unavailable in the 5-4 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. Ville Husso started against the Kings, with Mrazek as the backup.
