Dylan Strome Celebrates Daughter’s Birth with Standout Performance
Washington Capitals center Dylan Strome experienced an emotional night during Thursday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens. At halftime, he received the news of the birth of his third daughter. The little one, named Sutton Kimberley, came into the world while Strome was on the ice. His wife, Tayler, felt the first signs two hours before the start of the game. Strome highlighted the importance of the sacrifices his wife makes, especially due to the time he spends away from home because of his career. There were so many emotions in my mind. You want to make sure everyone is okay, it’s pretty scary. At the end of the first period, I thought I might make it home in time, maybe. Obviously, that didn’t happen.

Despite the situation, Strome played a crucial role in the Capitals’ 8-4 victory, assisting on three goals. Strome won a face-off to set up Alex Ovechkin’s opening goal and then assisted the captain on a 2-on-1 to make the score 6-4.I am very proud of her. It’s difficult, and obviously you want to be present for the birth of your children and you didn’t know this was going to happen so soon, but I can’t wait to go see her… It’s something I think I’ll never experience again, hopefully no one does, feeling helpless.

From the first shift, I think Stromer was feeling it. I think he was unstoppable today.
