Adin Hill Leaves Game Due to Injury

The Golden Knights’ starting goalie, Adin Hill, left Monday’s game against Carolina due to an apparent leg injury, in a match that the Knights won 4-1. The situation occurred midway through the first period, with Vegas leading 1-0.

After a stop, Hill fell on the ice and remained there for several minutes.

After a brief conversation with the team’s coach, Kyle Moore, teammates Zach Whitecloud and William Karlsson helped Hill get to the bench. Hill headed to the tunnel, but had difficulty supporting his left leg.

Hill had already left a game in Calgary on October 14 after the first period and missed the following game against Boston.

Last Saturday, Hill earned his first win of the season, stopping 26 shots during the 6-1 victory over Calgary.

Akira Schmid replaced Hill, entering with a 3-0 record and averages of 3.00 goals against and .879 in save percentage.

The Golden Knights will begin a three-game road trip in Florida on Saturday. If Hill is unable to travel, the team will likely call up Carl Lindbom from their AHL club, the Silver Knights.

The Golden Knights were already dealing with other injuries, after placing captain Mark Stone on injured reserve just before the game, and the absence of forwards Brett Howden and defenseman Noah Hanifin.

Vegas recently signed Carter Hart to a professional tryout contract, becoming the first of the five 2018 Canadian World Junior hockey players to obtain an NHL contract since they were acquitted of sexual assault in a high-profile case.

Hart, Michael McLeod, Dillon Dube, Cal Foote, and Alex Formenton are not eligible to play until December 1st as part of the league’s readmission process.
