Cameron Ward: Titans’ Offense Aims High

The quarterback Cameron Ward holds nothing back when talking about the Tennessee Titans’ offense. On Wednesday, Ward expressed his belief that the team has the potential to rank among the top 10 offenses in the NFL.

“I honestly think we have the ability to be a top 10 offense,” Ward stated after a joint practice with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday.

This bold statement comes after a season in which the Titans’ offense ranked 27th in the league, averaging only 18.3 points per game. Ward, in a previous practice, had called the offense “mediocre”. On Wednesday, Ward and the offense showed improvement over Tuesday’s practice. Although they relied primarily on short passes to advance the ball, an attempt by Ward to throw the ball out of bounds during a “move the ball” drill resulted in an interception by Falcons cornerback Dee Alford, ending the day for the starting offense. Titans coach Brian Callahan emphasized the importance of staying calm during the process, acknowledging the ups and downs that are common with a rookie quarterback. Despite this, Ward maintains his confidence in the offense’s performance this season.

“We all believe in it,” Ward said. “The whole receiving corps, I tell them they’re the best. We always have to have confidence in ourselves. At the end of the day, whatever happens, we have to have the confidence that we’re going to make the play.”
