Dolphins and Steelers: Surprising Trade Shakes Up the NFL
In a move that has generated great expectation, the Miami Dolphins have finalized a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, sending standout cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith in exchange for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and a draft pick.
The agreement, subject to medical examinations, includes a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Dolphins, while they will receive a fifth-round pick in the same year from the Steelers.
Ramsey, who will receive a $1.5 million raise this season, bringing his compensation to $26.6 million in 2025, will have a significant impact on the Pittsburgh team. The Dolphins will assume $3 million of Ramsey’s contract, while the Steelers will take over most of it.
Smith, for his part, has agreed to a one-year contract extension for $12 million.
