D.J. Humphries Bolsters the Rams’ Offensive Line

Experienced offensive tackle D.J. Humphries has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Rams, as announced by his agency on Thursday. Initially, Humphries had agreed to a deal with the San Francisco 49ers in April, but ultimately did not sign with the team, which opted for other options, including the incorporation of former Philadelphia Eagles tackle, Andre Dillard. Humphries, 31, joined the Kansas City Chiefs late in the 2024 season, in search of a suitable left tackle. He started in his first game with the Chiefs in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers, but had to leave the game due to a hamstring injury and did not return to the starting lineup until the Week 18 game against the Denver Broncos. Humphries was not selected for the starting position in the playoffs, and the Chiefs chose guard Joe Thuney as their starting left tackle for the three postseason games. Humphries, selected in the first round of the 2015 draft, played eight seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, all as a starter. He was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2021. He suffered a torn ACL at the end of the 2023 season with the Cardinals.
