Brock Bowers Returns to Practice, But Is Doubtful for the Game Against the Chiefs

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers returned to practice on Friday, although his participation in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs is doubtful. Bowers, along with wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (knee/toe), had limited participation after being absent on Wednesday and Thursday. Meyers is doubtful to play.

“Jakobi was better than Brock,” commented coach Pete Carroll. “[Meyers] recovered quite well, so we are very hopeful that he will be available. Brock had his first practice here in a while. His practices have been great during the week. I saw him when he was working with the coaches, and he’s really doing well. So we’re very close to him.”

Bowers practiced for the first time since October 1st. He has been sidelined for the last two weeks to recover from a posterior cruciate ligament injury and a bone bruise in his left knee, suffered in the Raiders’ season-opening victory against the New England Patriots. Bowers tried to play through the injury. However, his production declined, as he was unable to play at top speed or separate from defenders. He totaled 14 receptions for 122 yards and 8.7 yards per reception from weeks 2 to 4 before being sidelined. Carroll said Meyers was injured on a 16-yard reception in the final quarter of last week’s 20-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans. In six games of 2025, Meyers has accumulated 29 receptions for 329 yards. His numbers have decreased in recent weeks. He has averaged 33.7 yards per game in the last three games, after averaging 76 in the first three weeks.

“A lot of this sometimes ends up being a byproduct of the game,” Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly said. “… I don’t look at it weekly. I look at it during the season. You know, obviously he’s our number one wide receiver. And I know that everyone who faces us in coverage and in the attention that he demands, I think everyone else in the league knows that too.”
