Packers WR Jayden Reed Suffers Shoulder Injury
In an unfortunate incident during the first quarter of Thursday’s game against the Commanders, Green Bay Packers receiver Jayden Reed suffered a shoulder injury.
The injury occurred on a play that, although spectacular, was invalidated by a penalty. Reed made an extended reception that would have resulted in a 39-yard touchdown.
The holding penalty, which nullified the score, was committed by right tackle Anthony Belton.
Belton, a rookie selected in the second round, was making his first start in the NFL due to the absence of starter Zach Tom, who was inactive due to a hip injury suffered in the first week against the Detroit Lions.
Reed, who had missed a large part of training camp due to a foot injury, had an outstanding performance in the first game of the season, leading the Packers with three receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown, despite playing only 18 offensive plays.
