Odell Beckham Jr. will face a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, delaying his expected return to the field.The news of the suspension was revealed by the player himself during an interview on the podcast “The Pivot”, published on Tuesday.
Beckham, who has participated in the Pro Bowl three times, assured that he did not knowingly consume any prohibited substance. According to his statements, when consulting the league about the detected substance, he was informed that his testosterone levels were too high.The suspension was confirmed in the official NFL transaction register on Tuesday, activating the six-week timeframe before Beckham is eligible to play.Beckham, who will turn 33 at the end of the suspension, reiterated his desire to return to the NFL this season. During the interview, he mentioned four teams he would be interested in playing for: the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Kansas City Chiefs, and two of his former teams, the Los Angeles Rams and the New York Giants.The player will not be able to participate in matches until Week 12.Beckham was released by the Dolphins last December, after having difficulties standing out in nine games, in which he achieved nine receptions for 55 yards.The receiver, currently a free agent, explained that the positive doping control occurred last season while playing for the Miami Dolphins.
