New names dominate the survey of the top 10 players in each position. This implies that each top 10 ranking includes at least one player who was not on the lists last year, whether due to performance, injuries, or the competitiveness in the rankings. The classification process involves league executives, coaches, and scouts who select their top 10 players by position. The results are compiled and ranked according to the number of votes, the composite average, and numerous interviews. Research and video analysis is provided by the NFL analyst. More than 70 voters participated in the selection of at least one position, and in many cases, in all. Additional votes and follow-up calls helped resolve ties. The presentation of the positions will take place over 11 days. The schedule is as follows:

  • Running Backs (7/7)
  • Defensive Tackles (7/8)
  • Outside Linebackers (7/9)
  • Safeties (7/10)
  • Tight End (7/11)
  • Interior Offensive Linemen (7/12)
  • Offensive Tackles (7/13)
  • Quarterbacks (7/14)
  • Linebackers (7/15)
  • Wide Receivers (7/16)
  • Cornerbacks (7/17)

Runners

Breece Hall, RB, Jets (No. 2 in the 2024 preseason rankings) – Hall, who was second behind the 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey on last year’s list, saw a decrease in yards per carry (876), receptions (57), and touchdowns (8) due to the poor performance of the Jets’ offense led by Aaron Rodgers. Hall, 24, appears poised for a larger role and possibly a better season in 2025.Nick Chubb, RB, Texans (No. 3 in the 2024 preseason) – After suffering a serious knee injury early in the 2023 season, Chubb returned to the field for the Browns in 2024, but was limited to 332 yards in eight games before breaking his foot in Week 15, ending his season. Chubb, 29, signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Texans this offseason.Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jaguars (No. 10 in the 2024 preseason) – Etienne failed to achieve a third consecutive 1,000-yard season for the Jaguars in 2024, rushing for 558 yards and two touchdowns with an average of 3.7 yards per carry, the lowest of his career. How first-year coach Liam Coen integrates Etienne into the offense will be one of the stories to follow at the 2025 training camp.
