San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday night on charges of obstruction of justice, according to law enforcement sources.

Lenoir, 25 years old and originally from Los Angeles, was released from jail early Friday morning. He is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to jail records.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers approached a group that included Lenoir and observed a weapon inside a parked vehicle. When the police requested the keys, another man threw them to Lenoir. Lenoir, in turn, threw the keys to a third man who tried to hide them, according to multiple reports.

The 49ers have not yet issued any official statement regarding the incident.

Lenoir signed a five-year, $92 million contract extension with the 49ers in November. In his first four seasons with San Francisco, the player, selected in the fifth round of the 2021 draft, has recorded six interceptions, 26 passes defended, and 265 tackles.
