In a constant that has become habitual this month, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned after missing a day of work and is ready to play in the team’s next game. Jackson’s most recent injury is to his toe, which he suffered in the first quarter of the 23-10 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. He did not participate in Monday’s practice, but returned to the field on Tuesday and is ready for the Thanksgiving game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

I just fell, but I’m fine. The finger is fine.

The Ravens coach, John Harbaugh, echoed Jackson’s assessment, saying that the two-time MVP “looked very good” in Tuesday’s practice. Lately, there has been a recurring pattern in what it takes to get Jackson ready for games. Two weeks ago, Jackson was out for a practice due to knee pain, but returned to play in the 27-19 victory in Minnesota. Last week, he missed a practice due to an ankle injury, but returned to play in the 23-16 victory in Cleveland. Jackson mentioned that it’s frustrating to have to talk about his injuries to reporters, but he doesn’t think it’s difficult to stay positive.

We won. That’s what it’s all about. I can’t control an injury.

Recently, Jackson has not been the dominant player he usually is. He has gone three straight games without reaching 200 passing yards and has not produced a touchdown in two consecutive games for the first time in his career. When asked how he plays despite the injuries, Jackson replied: “I don’t think about it. I just go out and play.” Harbaugh defended Jackson’s game, describing it as “winning football.” He pointed out how Jackson leads the NFL with a passer rating of 143.4 in the fourth quarter, during which he has added four touchdown passes, no interceptions, and an average of 11.4 yards per pass attempt.

He’s been doing things you take for granted; you protect the ball, or you operate the right way, or you get us down the field. We’ve had some key drives at the end of the game in the second half and in the fourth quarter that have been game-winners for us and the offense. So, you might be referring to flashy stats and things like that, but what about the fourth-quarter stats?

The Ravens (6-5) have won five straight games to tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for the top spot in the AFC North. This is the sixth time in Jackson’s eight-year career that he has helped Baltimore achieve a winning streak of five or more games. Jackson was asked if the previous injuries (knee and ankle) are improving.

I feel better, in some areas.

In addition to Jackson, safety Kyle Hamilton returned to practice on Tuesday and fully participated after not participating on Monday. Kyle Hamilton looked good. He had a good practice.
