Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, passes away

INDIANAPOLIS – The world of American football is in mourning following the death of Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts since 1997. Irsay, who was 65 years old, was a key figure in one of the franchise’s most successful eras.

We are devastated to announce that our beloved owner and CEO, Jim Irsay, passed away peacefully in his sleep this afternoon.

In a statement issued by the team, Pete Ward, Colts’ chief operating officer, expressed sadness at the loss. Ward highlighted Irsay’s dedication and passion for the Colts, as well as his generosity, commitment to the community, and, above all, his love for his family, qualities that made him unique.

Jim Irsay leaves an important legacy in sports. He is survived by his daughters Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson, his ex-wife and mother of his daughters, Meg Coyle, and ten grandchildren.
