Heyward Accuses Allen of Intentional Knee to the Head in Steelers vs. Bills Game

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive captain Cameron Heyward has revealed a controversial incident during the game against the Buffalo Bills. Heyward claims that Bills quarterback Josh Allen intentionally kneed him in the stomach during the first half of the game. The game, which ended with a 26-7 victory for the Bills, was marked by tension between both players, according to Heyward.

“I was upset throughout the game because, as a quarterback, they’re protected, but I’m not,” Heyward stated. “It just makes me angry.”

The incident occurred less than six minutes before the end of the first half, when Heyward was trying to get up after tackling Allen after a short play. Heyward believes Allen’s action was deliberate, based on a later comment from the quarterback.

“He even said afterwards, ‘I had to do something to get you to let go,'” Heyward added.

Heyward’s statement came in the Steelers’ locker room after Allen concluded his post-game interview. However, Allen also spoke about the existing friction between both players during the match. Heyward was even penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct after Allen connected with receiver Keon Coleman for a one-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Allen commented on the situation:

“Maybe [it made me react] a little bit,” Allen said about Heyward. “We love the competitiveness of this game. He’s a great player. Sometimes, you need that fire to motivate you.”
