Giants linebacker Micah McFadden to miss significant time with injury

New York Giants starting linebacker Micah McFadden will undergo foot surgery and will be out for a considerable period, sources confirmed.

McFadden is expected to return at some point this season.

The injury occurred on Sunday while making a tackle on Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. After the play, his right leg was immobilized with an orthopedic boot and he had to be taken off the field on a cart.

Darius Muasau, second-year linebacker, took his place on the field. The Commanders took advantage of the situation immediately, with Daniels connecting with tight end Zach Ertz for a touchdown on the next play, after being matched up with Muasau.

McFadden was selected by the Giants in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft. He became a full-time starter in 2023.

In the previous two seasons, McFadden started in 14 games. He accumulated over 100 tackles in each of those years, including a personal record of 107 last season.

Your rookie contract is scheduled to expire at the end of this season.

The news of McFadden’s injury and his time away was initially reported.
